Megabucks, Gimme 5, Pick 3 and Pick 4 are all run with Maine and Vermont through the Tri-State Lottery, which the three states set up in 1985. Players in all three states share one drawing for each game, so a Pick 3 result in New Hampshire is the same as the Maine and Vermont result for that draw. Pooling ticket sales is what lets three small states carry a rolling jackpot.
The evening Pick 3 and Pick 4 drawing is held shortly before 7 PM; the Maine State Lottery lists it at 6:50 PM ET. Ticket sales close a few minutes before each drawing.
Millionaire for Life, which replaced Lucky for Life and Cash4Life in early 2026, is also sold in New Hampshire. Its top prize is $1 million a year for life.
Tri-State Megabucks prizes and odds
A Megabucks play costs $2. You pick five numbers from 1 to 41 and a Megaball from 1 to 6. The jackpot grows until someone hits it; the New Hampshire Lottery's estimate for the next drawing was $2.25 million in early October 2026. Jackpot winners can take a 30-year annuity or a lump sum.

The overall odds of winning any prize are about 1 in 6. Gimme 5 has no rolling jackpot: matching all five numbers pays $100,000 (split if there's more than one winner), at odds of 1 in 575,757.

Tax, age and claim rules
New Hampshire doesn't tax lottery winnings. The Lottery withholds federal tax at the IRS rates and reports prizes of $2,000 or more on Form W-2G, and it's required to deduct any past-due child support before paying a prize. See lottery tax rates by state for how that compares.
You must be 18 to play. Draw-game prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing, which is longer than the 180 days many states allow. Retailers can pay prizes up to $599.99; for $600 or more, claim at the Lottery's headquarters at 14 Integra Drive, Concord, or by mail with a claim form, photo ID and proof of your Social Security number.
