What is All or Nothing — and why does matching nothing win?
All or Nothing is a Texas Lottery game with the most counter-intuitive rule in American lottery: you pick 12 numbers from 1 to 24, and the top prize of $250,000 goes to tickets that match all twelve or none of the twelve.
It makes sense once you see the symmetry. Twelve numbers are drawn from twenty-four, so the twelve not drawn are just as specific a set as the twelve that were. The odds of each outcome are identical — 1 in 2,704,156 — and the prize chart mirrors itself from both ends:

Matching six of twelve — the most likely outcome — wins nothing at all.
