Overall odds of winning any prize: 1 in 23.

Every $5 play includes a randomly assigned 2X–10X multiplier applied to all non-jackpot prizes — the smallest possible win is $10 (a $5 base doubled). The jackpot itself is never multiplied. In California, prizes are pari-mutuel by law.

How to read this chart

Every non-jackpot prize is a fixed amount set by the game rules — it does not grow with the jackpot. The most commonly won prize by far is the bottom tier (matching only the Mega Ball), at odds of 1 in 35; the "1 in 23 overall" figure is dominated by these small wins, not the headline tiers. The two odds columns also explain a quirk players notice: matching 3 numbers plus the Mega Ball is rarer than matching 4 numbers alone, which is why the prize table isn't ordered the way intuition suggests.
